Ford/Lincoln Sync 3 APIM and Screen Complete Upgrade Kit without Navigation

Enjoy the use of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto by upgrading your slow and tired Sync 2 (MyFordTouch) infotainment system to Sync 3. You'll be able to select your favorite music in Spotify, Apple Music and Pandora as well as use mapping services like Apple Maps, Google Maps and Waze. These screen and APIM bundles are plug and play, pre-programmed and ready to go. Once you receive it, all that you'll need to do is swap out the hardware, and you're done. Who we are

Simply Michigan Infotainment began in 2019 with a simple belief: upgrading your vehicle’s technology shouldn’t cost a couple thousand dollars. After searching for a reasonably priced way to upgrade our own vehicle from Sync 2 to Sync 3, we decided to build a better option. What began as a small eBay store has steadily grown into a business known for quality hardware, fair pricing, and helpful service. Beware Chinese Counterfeits

Beware of APIM modules coming from Overseas/China. The United States is FLOODED with fake Chinese "parts built" Sync 3 APIM modules. These can be found everywhere from eBay, Amazon, and even other .com companies selling Sync 3 conversions. It's hard to tell the difference between an authentic module and one of these parts built modules if you don't know what you're looking for. Even if you aren't purchasing from us, please be cautious from who you purchase your hardware from.

Upgrades and add-ons

Optional enhancements for your infotainment system

8.46" High Definition Sync 4 Display

Upgrade the base Sync 3 display to the newest Sync 4 8.46" display; includes custom mounting bracket for your current screen brackets so that the new display will bolt right in without any modification. These Sync 4 displays are larger and are a lot more crisp due to the higher PPI (pixels per inch). APIM will need to be running at least software 3.4 for the display to work.

⚠️ Frequently asked question: Will this fit my vehicle? Yes it will, as long as your vehicle is eligible to be converted to Sync 3. No modifications are needed to fit the slightly larger display to your vehicle. As the 8.46" display is slightly larger than stock a small portion of the display will be unused and a thin black border will be displayed around the content on the display. None of the displayed content is cut off or hidden and it will look completely stock when the install is finished.

Unfortunately these displays are not compatible with the Lincoln MKC and Lincoln MKZ as these brackets are mounted on the back of the display (not the sides).

Sync 3 USB Hub with built-in wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and PD Fast Charging

Brand new for 2026! We now have replacement USB hubs available that are both USB-C and USB-A with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto built in. As an added bonus, this hub is also fast charging. In our testing it produced approximately 30W of PD fast charging making it 3-4x faster than the typical Ford USB hub. No dongle sticking out of your USB hub for Apple CarPlay/Android Auto access. Just swap the USB hub and you're done, completely plug and play.

This USB hub is compatible with ALL vehicles that have the standard double USB-A port (including the 2015 F-150). This USB hub also has a 2nd USB mini port on the back so that it's compatible with 2015 Mustang, 2015 Focus, and 2016 Explorer vehicles as well. Looking for more information? Check it out here.

Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto Adapter

Just looking for the wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto? Get rid of the cumbersome cables in your vehicle and replace them with a wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto adapter. We've personally tested these adapters and they work great. Simply plug in the adapter to your USB port and connect your phone via bluetooth to enjoy. Pairs almost instantly when you start the vehicle up and allows you to keep your phone in your pocket.

USB-C Upgrade

Are all of your cables USB-C? No worries, upgraded hardware is available for an additional $89, we'll substitute the hardware in your kit to include an authentic Ford OEM USB-C hub (includes modified large bezel, smaller inner bezel and USB-C/USB-A port). This upgrade is not compatible with every model year, please check compatible vehicles below, for additional information check out the hardware page located here. Please note, this USB hub does not fast charge like our combo hub does, this merely changes the port type. Below are the compatible vehicles, if your model/year isn't indicated it is not eligble, you'll need to purchase the combo USB-C hub.

4" to 8" Programming

Make upgrading from 4" to 8" seamless by adding the additional programming required for your ACM, FCIM and/or HVAC modules. If you're doing a 4" to 8" conversion this add-on is required when purchasing hardware. Standard programming is an additional $80. For more information on these conversions, check out our overview. When purchasing, please note in the comments whether you have manual or AUTO climate controls on the new bezel, this information is needed to properly program your vehicle.
