Extra Upgrades and Additional Services
Every kit includes everything you need however you can go above and beyond. All upgrades are compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with a cable. If you would like to go wireless we have two options for you. Don't worry, you can add all of these items to your cart at the same time as your upgrade, this is just for a brief introduction.
USB-C Hub with built in wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
Standalone Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Adapter
Both are great options. The hub is essentially two upgrades in one and as an added bonus, it also fast charges at 30W.
We also have standalone USB-C upgrades available, these are authentic Ford hubs that include custom bezels to fit your vehicle. Not all vehicles are compatible with this one though, please check compatibility.
If you wanted the absolutely best display with a higher resolution and brighter colors, we also have Sync 4 8.46" Displays available. These displays look stunning.
Want a protection plan to cover all of this just in case? SimplyCare has your back. Extend your included one year warranty to three years. Includes replacement hardware if anything goes wrong and we pay for the shipping both ways.
Popular Questions
What's the difference between the navigation kit and the non-navigation kit? Both kits are essentially the same, except that one includes factory navigation and the other does not. Both systems include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Most of the time people spend their time in CarPlay/Auto so the factory navigation might not be useful but it is a great back up just in case (plus it's nice to have a map on the home screen for reference without your phone connected)
What's the difference between OEM (authentic) hardware and aftermarket hardware (including the cheaper non-authentic Ford knockoffs)? The knock offs are built cheaply for the seller to maximize profit. We've replaced hundreds of modules for customers that went that route only to have to replace the module again. Getting support out of the those companies is almost always non-existent. Want to learn more? Check out our support article.
Do I need my module programmed? Why can't I just buy one out of the salvage yard and throw it in my vehicle? Unfortunately nothing is easy nowadays. The modules are programmed with all of your vehicles information like back up cameras, seat controls, climate controls, radio functionality, etc. Using a module that wasn't programmed for your vehicle will end up giving you many problems (or the system might not turn on at all). All of our hardware arrives to you plug and play, we program it all on our bench before shipping.
Typical install time? Most vehicles are super easy and can be taken apart with simple hand tools. Expect to take anywhere between 15 minutes to 1 hour for your vehicle.
How much does upgrading cost? Upgrades start for under $600 and move up from there depending on different options and upgrades. If your old system failed, you'll be able to upgrade to Sync 3 cheaper than it would cost you to get a replacement module from the Ford dealer.
